Just a stone’s throw away from the bustling shopping district of Old Market, Pub Street, and Night Market – Alliance Boutique Hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia provides a tranquil yet modern-chic retreat for travelers from across the globe.
After a hot 6 hour minivan ride from Phnom Penh, we finally arrived at the unique boutique hotel. Upon arrival, the hotel staff kindly greeted us and quickly processed our check-in. During the process, the hotel provided a very refreshing cool damp cloth and a cold lime drink to help us unravel and cool off. This was highly welcomed, given that April is one of Cambodia’s hottest months. The hotel also provided us a map and a short tourist guide book for Siem Reap. This was also extremely helpful, given that we were travelling without a map or guide book.
As they knew our arrival time, the cool air of the AC was awaiting us when we first entered the room, again perfect service for such a warm day. The room was very spacious, ours was called the Pink Room. As the rooms are named after their color, you don’t need to go far to know that ours was a pleasant shade of pink.

There are a total of 7 rooms/villas at the Alliance Boutique Hotel. On average, each of the rooms is about the same size. Each room has a nice social area outside, with a hammock, a table, and a few chairs. The outdoor area of each room can be light up and can also be cooled off with a ceiling fan. That means it was a perfect quiet place to rest and socialize at any time of the day.
The spacious and clean hotel room had nice hardwood floors. The main area of the room consisted of a large sliding door closet, a large king-sized bed with soft comfy pillows, two bedside tables, a flat screen TV with wooden entertainment center, and a desk for working. There was also a small refrigerator if you would like to keep things cool. Everything was perfectly set and it made us immediately comfortable. Everything about the room was in accordance with the photos on their website. There were separate rooms for showers and toilet. The bathroom was very large and had to well-functioning shower heads. One a large overhead shower that when used felt like showering in the rain and the other a standard hand held shower nozzle. The room was truly the ‘complete package’, and were very impressed.

The Alliance Boutique Hotel also has a quaint restaurant in the front of the hotel. The restaurant it self serves a mix of dishes from Cambodian food to that of French cuisine. The prices are very reasonable, comparable to other restaurants in Siem Reap. We had a wonderfully delicious breakfast next to their outdoor pool, especially since they served delicious coffee and some of the best bread that we have had in a long time. Unfortunately much of Siem Reap was undergoing road repairs, so we were not able to fully enjoy the complete restaurant area. The road construction is supposedly going to continue for at least another month.
Alliance Boutique Hotel is perfect for those visiting Siem Reap on business, leisure, or for a family trip, as the resort is equipped with the latest modern conveniences, such as high speed Internet and a swimming pool.
The hotel location is very strategic. Only 3 minutes’ walk to the center of the hustle and bustle of Siem Reap, but quiet enough that you won’t be disturbed by noises from the market, bars, or clubs. Given the location and perfect hotel setting, we highly recommend staying at the Alliance Boutique Hotel on your next visit to Siem Reap.
I would like to thank the lovely management of the Alliance Boutique Hotel – Siem Reap for looking after me during my stay, and inviting me to share my experience with all of you. I look forward to returning someday.
